Running a Match

Anyone at the range can run a match as long as an RO or Admin has signed in to the tablet.

Before you start

Make sure that:

  • The internet is available in the range, or

  • You can sign members up for the match and then later submit the match in an area with internet access, away from the range

How to use the scoring iPad to run a match

  1. Set up the match

    • Go to the Match Setup tab

    • Select the match type

    • Check that the day and time are correct for a calendar match

    • Check the detail number. If you're starting a match, detail 1 is correct

    • Select the range/bay config you are using

    • Select whether you are doing a calendar match or just a practise

  2. Add Shooters

    • Determine in which bay a shooter is shooting

    • Click the scan button in that bay to bring up the camera screen

    • Point the back camera at the shooter's ID card or at their phone if they have brought up a QR code to sign in to the match

    • If the shooter is a visitor, or if for some reason the iPad says it can't find the user by scanning, enter their details manually

    • Have the user enter their PRN. If they have chosen to store PRNs and they were scanned in, they can select the PRN from a dropdown list. If not, they must enter the PRN and class manually

    • Select which type of match the shooter is in, if applicable

    • Have the shooter select their grade, if they have not elected to store it

  3. Select Range Officers

    • If a shooter is also a range officer, tick the box at the end of their row

    • If the range officer is not shooting, scan or manually enter their details in the Range Officers section at the bottom of the screen

  4. Record Scores

    • Tap the Scoring tab

    • Touch the box in which you want to record the score(s)

    • When a shooters scores are recorded for the current series, tap the Next button to move on to the next shooter

    • When all shooter's scores are recorded, for the current series, tap the First button to go back to the first shooter

    • Repeat until the match is done

  5. Submit Scores

    • Tap the Submit Match tab

    • Check the match results to ensure all members have PRNs and all other details are correct

    • If necessary, go back to the previous tabs to make corrections and then come back to the Submit tab

    • When ready, press the Submit Scores button

    • If there is an error, wait moment and try again. Wi-Fi may have suffered a temporary connection issue

    • After submission, start a new detail for the same match or get ready for the next match by selecting the appropriate option
